by Joan Saunders | photos by Amanda Cribdon Photography - It's January, and apparently this is the time to make resolutions. It's when we take stock and figure out what goals we have for the new year. And, of course, we know that keeping the promises we make to ourselves is not always the easiest

From the Kitchen – Sometimes, More is Better

September 29, 2021

by Joan Saunders | photos by Amanda Cribdon Photography For me, many foods are just conduits for the accompaniments. Tacos? Add pickled jalapenos, cheese, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, tomatoes and lettuce and I'm in. Ice cream? Of course you're going to need salted caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, nuts and sprinkles. Sometimes more is just, well,

From the Kitchen – Zucchini Inspiration

August 25, 2021

by Joan Saunders | photos by Amanda Cribdon Photography My friend wouldn't let me leave her garden without taking a zucchini. My neighbour left zucchinis for me at the door. There was no escaping it: it was time to get inspired by zucchini. I grew up eating zucchini as it was easy to cultivate. There were
