It has been 20 years since Lorraine Peterson decided her new store, Lifestyle Markets, would incorporate the largest selection of organic and local foods, with a complete range of nutritional supplements and vitamins and a natural foods deli. The first and only full service market-style store opened on Douglas Street in 1995 with only a handful of employees. Lifestyle Markets has grown to become a part of Victoria’s community and is the go-to place for customers who want to take care of themselves: the answer to the search for more information and products that will help them get healthy and stay healthy. In 1996 a second location opened in Sidney and in 2001 a third store was established in Cook Street Village.
To share their pride in reaching 20 years at the Douglas Street location Lifestyle Markets is planning some fun celebrations. For 20 days, beginning September 25, there will be in-store giveaways, product demonstrations, samplings and community involvement. Recognising that their customers are the key to their thriving business Lifestyle Markets and all the staff at the Douglas Street store will be looking forward to celebrating 20 years in 20 days.
