Panorama Recreation operates two free Teen Lounge programs, for youth 11 to 16 years, one at Greenglade Community Centre in Sidney and one at Bayside Middle School in Central Saanich. The Greenglade Teen Lounge runs every Friday and Saturday night from 6 to 8 p.m., and the Bayside Teen Lounge runs every Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. After Teen Lounge the youth can take the shuttle to Panorama for skating (September through March) or swimming. Both programs are run in partnership with Beacon Community Services and the Boys and Girls Club of Central Saanich.
The teen centres feature air hockey, foosball, pool, music, games, and Xbox 360. Each month we host a special event; this season has included Sport & Spa Night, Extreme Movie Night, Talent Show, Minute to Win It, and a Foam Party and Giant Hampster Balls (June 21st) by Games2U Victoria. Saturday nights at Greenglade, teens will enjoy free Panago Pizza and our giant inflatable obstacle course.
Greenglade and Bayside teen centres offer a safe, supervised and welcoming environment for pre-teens and teens to socialize. Teens will be issued a VIP pass which will provide FREE access to Panorama’s drop-in activities. One free drop-in will be issued each time teens attend the teen lounge.
The goal of the program is to provide youth with opportunities for constructive use of their weekend time where they can learn and develop new skills and interests with other youth. The Teen Lounge program offers youth the opportunity to participate fully in the life of community and recreation in a healthy and positive way.
In addition to the Teen Lounge, Panorama offers Free Sport Drop-in and Teen Only Weightroom at Greenglade on Friday evenings.
