Sip & Savour Spring in Sidney

The dusting of snow and cold have passed … spring is upon us! Counting flowers and planning the garden seek our attention. Growing our own food and food sustainability are becoming more important to our well-being with the world’s changing climates and our own challenges of living on an island. It’s time to find out more about the foods available to us locally.

Spend the evening of March 27th at the Mary Winspear Centre enjoying a gourmet dinner created by Red Seal Chef Graham Little. This is an opportunity to see what is grown in our backyard, indeed what vegetables and fruits you yourself can grow, along with the wide variety of meats available. Local entertainment by Charlie Burton followed by the Craig Henderson Trio will lull you with their dulcet tones while you satisfy your palate. Start the evening finding your favourite Sip at the wine reception and move into tasting the delicious buffet of Savour.

Taste wines from deVine, Muse, Symphony, Dragonfly, Highland House and Domaine Rochette, cider from Sea Cider Farms and gin from Victoria Spirits, all paired with treats from the Little Cheese Shop, Pure Lovin’ Chocolate and Melinda’s Biscotti. Foods from Kildara Farms, Michell’s Farm, Red Barn and others across the Peninsula will draw you to the table. Check out the full menu at www.TIDESgroup.com. Advance tickets ($55) only through www.MaryWinspear.ca.

The evening celebrates the wonderful bounty of the Saanich Peninsula and supports the Growing Young Farmers Society. Come taste all the deliciousness of the region under one roof!

Sip a little before you Savour a lot … A remarkable evening you don’t want to miss!
